Wildfire Report — National Overview
The United States is operating at Preparedness Level 1.
Initial attack activity across the country is light, with 85 new fires reported.
Firefighters are managing 12 uncontained large fires, with 3 new large incidents and 4 large fires contained.
Total personnel assigned to incidents nationwide is 4,360.
Zero Complex Incident Management Teams (CIMT) are committed.
Year-to-date, 64,919 wildfires have burned 9,037,447 acres across the United States.
Mostly dry conditions will prevail across the contiguous United States Sunday, with isolated showers and thunderstorms in eastern North Carolina, far southern Florida and the Southwest.
Breezy, dry winds will develop from the southern High Plains into the Midwest, although recent rainfall should limit fire-weather concerns in most areas.
Very dry conditions will continue in the Lower Mississippi Valley, while above-normal temperatures persist across California, the northern West, northern Plains and Midwest.
Cooler and drier weather is expected across much of Alaska, while Hawaii continues to receive occasional trade-wind showers.
Washington
The Northwest Area is operating at Preparedness Level 1. The region reports 3 uncontained large fires active.
The Sisi fire on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest is located ten miles northwest of Stehekin, WA. It covers 4,615 acres and is 34% contained. It is burning in timber and closed timber litter with moderate fire behavior including smoldering, backing and flanking. Residences are threatened, and area, road and trail closures are in effect.

Oregon
Oregon wildland fire operations continue under Northwest Area coordination at Preparedness Level 1.
The Austin fire on the Mt. Hood National Forest covers 12,888 acres and is 98% contained. Located twenty-five miles southeast of Estacada, OR, the fire is burning in brush, timber and closed timber litter. It exhibits minimal fire behavior with smoldering. Area, road and trail closures are in effect.
The Grasshopper fire on the Mt. Hood National Forest covers 93,972 acres and is 98% contained. Located fourteen miles southwest of Dufur, OR, it is burning in brush, hardwood litter and closed timber litter. The fire shows minimal fire behavior with creeping and smoldering. Area, road and trail closures are in effect, and 33 structures have been lost.

California
Northern California is operating at Preparedness Level 2, and Southern California is operating at Preparedness Level 3. Northern California reports 1 uncontained large fire, and Southern California reports 3 uncontained large fires active.
The Henderson fire at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton covers 3,160 acres and is 50% contained. Located three miles north of Oceanside, CA, it is burning in grass, brush and chaparral. The fire exhibits minimal fire behavior. Critical infrastructure is threatened, and road closures are in effect.
The Norte fire, managed by the Orange County Fire Authority, covers 570 acres and is 25% contained. Located one mile northwest of San Clemente, CA, it is burning in grass and chaparral. The fire exhibits active fire behavior with smoldering, creeping and running. Numerous residences are threatened, and road and trail closures are in effect.
The Timber fire in the Los Padres National Forest is located four miles southeast of Big Sur, CA. It covers 25,350 acres and is 97% contained. It is burning in grass, timber and chaparral, displaying minimal fire behavior with creeping and smoldering. Area, road and trail closures are in effect, and 1 structure has been lost.
The Cooley fire, managed by the Mendocino Unit of Cal Fire, is located four miles south of Yorkville, CA. It covers 731 acres and is 5% contained. It is burning in timber and brush with moderate fire behavior including backing.
